Not only did this give me a great opportunity to shoot experienced Models but also the chance to
meet professional photographers and to learn first hand how the business worked.
After a few years I decided that New York was the place to be if I wanted to be taken seriously as a Photographer. I moved first to New York and then
here to San Antonio, Texas.
I very much love being a Photographer. These past
ten or so years have been the greatest of my life. If
anything I only regret not finding it sooner.
Introduction
I suppose all of us at one time or another have considered the thought of becoming a photographer. I remember being very young, maybe 7 or 8 when my Uncle gave me my first camera.
I joined the Navy when I was 17, my first job was working as what was called a Gunners Mate, a fancy
term for a painter/ janitor. I had a good friend who was a Lithographer (Printer) at the time, he always seem to be much cleaner at the end of everyday so
I thought I'd give printing a try.
The ships print shop was located directly next to the
Photo Lab. I remember being very interested in Photography but digital photography was still something off in the future , Photoraphy seemed
at the time far too complicated for me.
After getting out of the Navy I started working as a
printer. I'm originally from South Florida, Hollywood
to be exact. At the time Miami was just becoming
the big new spot for Models and Actors and I found
myself working for Agencies printing promotional
pieces.
